Join us for an evening of radio at our shack - followed by a pint or two

Barry and Jerry in the club radio shack on Field Lane, Farnley Tyas

We have arranged an evening of radio – an extra event – at our club shack at Farnley Tyas on Friday, August 29, starting at 4.40pm.

We'll be running a very simple station, no tower, no generator, power from 12 volt batteries and a multiband-off-centre fed dipole supported by a fibreglass pole.

We hope our newer members will come along and see what can be achieved with just a basic setup.

At this time of day the bands should be busy, particularly 40m, and we will be using our club call sign GX4CDD.

Afterwards we'll retire to the nearby Golden Cock for a swift half. Hope you can join us!
