Points from the February committee meeting


The club's shed was discussed at the February 2025 committee meeting.

Mills on the Air was discussed at the club's February committee meeting. The club will not be coordinating, but any member can activate any mills they wish. All enquiries will be directed to Dutch MOTA.committee


The Shed

  • Weatherproofing to be completed when weather allows.

  • Electrical installation discuss spraying shed with preservative to be discussed.

  • Ply lining and surface mount electrical fittings were approved.

  • Kitchen worktop to be installed full width, also approved.

  • Patch leads to be donated by Darran.

  • A stone step to be fitted.

  • Provision of fire extinguisher in shed.

  • Second lock to be fitted.


Trailer Mast Maintenance/Training

  • Maintenance Arranged, coordinated by M0RIU.

  • Training at another date during the summer.

Special Event Stations

(Note these are still subject to discussion and change. Check website for final details.)

  • 70cms field day, to be coordinated by Robin Mosley

  • BBQ, not possible at field. G1FYS to coordinate with G3SDY for Honley dates.

  • Emley Motor and Steam Fair, June 21&22. M0RIU to arrange.

  • Talk about websites and apps for radio amateurs to be presented by M0RIU.

  • VE Day event at Scholes J&I school, if school falls through, from club shack May 8.

  • Training day in May at club shack. G0BWB

  • M5JB. 145 alive 12/04. Members to contact control stations.

  • Honley show June 28 from shack.

  • Mid summer field day at shack July 12.

  • David Brown Museum day July 20. M0RBG

  • Yorkshire day August 1 G0BFJ

  • Lighthouses weekend. August 16&17. G0BWB

  • Churches on the Air, September 13. M0RIU/M0PIE

  • Railways on the Air, September 27&28. M0RBG

Other

Farnley Estates Licence update completed.

A check to be carried out on club equipment/sort out radios/laptops.

Barry G4TML has agreed to carry out oil change/maintenance of

generator.

Denby Dale Amateur Radio Club was founded 50 years ago. We run a daily net from 9.30am on 145.575 MHz. Our Sunday net is at 10.30am on repeater GB3HD, 433.225MHz. We compete in contests, arrange special events and can offer help with training for the amateur radio licence. Our shack is at Field Lane, Farnley Tyas, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD4 6BS.
